Meet Mama Mia!
Facts About Me
Breed: Miniature Horse
Born: 2011
Program(s): Equine Assisted Counseling, Play Therapy
Year Joined Program: 2018
My Story
I joined the program while pregnant, so we took things slow at first. After my baby was old enough to tag along, I joined the counseling program working with teens and adults. I loved introducing my baby to all of the wonderful people who came into the pasture for their sessions. After he was weaned, I started working in play therapy with my youngest clients. I've always loved kids - both human and equine - so play therapy was the perfect job for me!
Special Talents and Skills
I am a very nurturing therapy partner and make sure my clients know that I will always be there for them. I am patient and kind while my clients, both young and old, learn new ways to problem-solve, communicate, and express themselves.
I especially love working with my young play therapy clients. I find their play to be quite fascinating and will often follow them around the play area. I really enjoy watching them make art projects, play in the sandbox, and cook pretend meals.
