Meet Donkey!
Facts About Me
Breed: Miniature Donkey
Born: 2005 (estimate)
Programs: Equine Assisted Counseling
Year Joined Program: 2018
My Story
I lived on the land of a 300-acre ranch without much interaction with people prior to joining the program. At the start, I was very scared of people and ran away from anyone who approached me. Since then, participating in the counseling program hasn't just helped my clients - it's helped me too! I have become very confident and social - equine assisted counseling is my true calling!
Special Talents and Skills
I like to make a point to introduce myself to every STEPS client at some point during the course of their counseling.
I am also a very sensitive and intuitive therapy partner. I can tell when my clients are feeling anxious and step up to make sure they feel safe. I can also tell when they're avoiding the hard stuff and like to provide encouragement to help them express their feelings!
